These are my comments about this dispensary and how it is helping with my condition.
“I do not use marijuana socially. I am a veteran of Afghanistan and work in the private policy area of law enforcement. I barely drink or even take Advil, so nausea from my aggressive chemo treatments and the prescription pills to counter those effects as well as the counter drugs had me suffering. I was having a hard time eating, sitting up, going to the bathroom, was in constant pain. And was depressed as well and unable to engage.
The Dr. tried Nabilone, a synthetic THC. This helped me somewhat but I could only eat junk food, i.e., McDonalds and potato chips, and was still suffering many harsh other effects. The relief level was minimal compared to how ‘spacey’ I was.
I was told about the other option, THC, but I resisted it because of my previous career path and stigma. Eventually, after hearing the same message from other patients, nurses and open medical pros, (and cons) I decided to try.
The THC helped me immediately. The amount was easy to regulate so I did not feel ‘stoned’. My appetite for healthy foods returned including fruit and vegetables, green teas, whole wheats, etc. The pain an nausea decreased dramatically. I was able to stop taking Gravol, Advil, and prescribed prochloperazine, as well as Nabilone.
Although not perfect, the nausea is manageable and I feel more healthy. I am very confused why this substance is not more available for those who are suffering. My own stigma did me a disservice.
Also, as a side note: the Westcoast Medicann was professional and came from a healing perspective. The gentlemen there gave me health information (alternative) as far as miso soup recipes to help detox chemicals and peat bath information, etc. This was absolutely from a place of concern and compassion and there was no profit for anyone and it had nothing to do with the promotion of THC.”
